Station facilities
The station is managed by ScotRail and is unstaffed. The station is NOT disability compliant as there are steps via the footbridge to cross the line. However, there is disabled access to both platforms, but it is necessary to leave the station and cross the road bridge to gain access to the other platform, which is a lengthy alternative.

Musselburgh Race Course
On race days a free bus shuttle service is run from the Park and Ride facility opposite the station. This is signposted from the station. The race course sponsors the station as a station adopter.
Prestongrange Mining Museum
Take the following buses from the Park and Ride towards Edinburgh – East Coast Buses 124 or Lothian Country Buses 113 – to Levenhall roundabout (5 minute walk – very short bus journey), and walk to first bus stop in Ravensheugh Road on B1348 to Prestonpans and Port Seton and board a Lothian service 26 (very frequent) – 4 minute bus journey.
