Station facilities

The station is managed by ScotRail and is unstaffed. It is situated about half a mile from the town centre – please see below for directions. It is disability compliant – there are no steps.

Public Transport Connectivity

The following bus services stop at the bus stop at the front of the station. Estimated time for a wheelchair bound passenger from train stopping to reaching the bus stop is 8 minutes. A combined bus service of four buses per hour will take you to the town centre – two bus stops away.

Onward Travel To Popular Destinations – Walking

NORTH BERWICK TOWN CENTRE

Go to the front of the station and cross the road at the pedestrian crossing. A few yards to your left you will see a lane going downhill on the right. Go down this and keep going until you come to Westgate. The Westgate Gallery is on your right (the owners allow their toilets to be used by rail passengers when they are open) and this leads into the High Street. (Estimated walking time 5 minutes).

SCOTTISH SEABIRD CENTRE

As above, but follow the High Street to the very end, turn left at Quality Street and keep going towards the harbour which can be seen. The Seabird Centre is to your right. (Estimated walking time 20 minutes)

THE MARINE HOTEL

Go to the front of the station and turn left, downhill to the traffic lights. Cross at the pedestrian crossing and go straight over into York Road. Continue on York Road downhill and you will come to a small cross roads (go straight over) which leads into Cromwell Road. The hotel is 250 yards on the right. (Estimated walking time 9 minutes)

THE NETHER ABBEY HOTEL

Exit the station at the rear. Once through the exit gate, immediately turn left up the lane towards the bridge. When at the bridge, turn right. The hotel is situated immediately in front of you as you cross the main road. (Estimated walking time 5/6 minutes)

Local Attractions And How To Get There By Bus

Dirleton Castle – East Coast Buses 124

Scottish Seabird Centre – Eve Coaches of Dunbar 120/121. Please note that this is a one way service and there are no return journeys from the Seabird Centre to the Station. The CRP is working to revise these services to provide this and bus/rail connectivity at the station.

Other attractions served by Eve Coaches service 120 to Dunbar are: Tantallon Caravan Park ; Tantallon Castle entrance gates ; Whitekirk ; Tyninghame (walk to local beach) ; Preston Mill ; East Linton.

Attractions served by Eve Coaches service 121 to Haddington are: Fenton Barns Retail Centre; Drem; Merryhatton Garden Centre ; The National Museum of Flight at East Fortune ; the Scottish Flag Centre at Athelstaneford.
